if you experience issues with SMART Notebook (or issues with it requesting an Activation Key), taking the following steps often resolves most issues:


First, simply check that SMART Notebook has all the required updates. 


  1. Click on the Finder icon on your dock.


  2. Click on the "Applications" folder.

  3. Find the "SMART Technologies" Folder and double click on it to open

  4. There's another folder called "SMART Tools", double click to open it.

  5. Find the app called "SMART Product Update" and double click to open.

  6. Click the "Update" button.

After the update runs, try using SMART Notebook again.


If the previous steps did not resolve your issue, then you can try reinstalling SMART:

  1. Go to the Ladue Portal and click "Install Software" 

  2. Search "SMART"

  3. Click the "Install"  button next to "SMART Uninstaller"

  4. Wait about 5 Minutes

  5. Hold the "Control" key and click in the gray area of the "SMART Learning Suite" box.

  6. Click "Reinstall"



If this does not resolve your issue, let the helpdesk know and we will escalate the issue to the "FileWave Admin" team for a reinstall.
